Bakos Winery on Csobánc hill
Our vineyard is located in the beautiful Badacsony wine region, not far from the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in the Balaton Highlands. Csobánc hill is a volcano that cooled down millions of years ago and is the perfect destination for hiking, nature and wine lovers alike. Our small family-run, artisan winery cultivates three hectares with genuine local Badacsony varieties such as pinot gris, welschriesling, the most famous variety of our country, the Furmint, and French world varieties such as the Pinot Blanc. In the winemaking process, we strive to produce our premium quality batches in the most natural way possible, with little artificial intervention. Our wines are hand harvested locally on the Csobánc Hill, with manual processing starting on the day of harvest. Our aim is to maintain the biological balance of our vineyards. We make small batch, locally processed, handcrafted, authentic wines. Our wines are protected with the designation of origin of Csobánc. The rich, volcanic minerality of Mount Csobánc and the floral, almondy aromas give each of our wines their distinctive aromas and flavours, and allow us to produce serious, long-aged lots alongside our youthful, lively wines.
For hikers: our winery is located right next to the national blue hiking trail, so you can quench your thirst with our handcrafted wines or homemade lemonade by taking a tight right turn towards us!
For nature lovers: on the estate, either in the vineyards between the rows or on our panoramic wine terrace, you can picnic, do yoga or simply relax and enjoy the proximity of nature and the view.
Wine lovers, you can taste our different vintages straight from the cellar on our wine terrace, with a wonderful panoramic view!
