FILM/ZENE series: DANCER IN THE DARK
This spring, Uránia is inviting its audience to go on a film music adventure. Starting at the end of February and running until the end of April, Hungarian Film Day, the programme will include screenings, audience meetings and live music programmes, drawing attention to the invisible but very important sound-music dimension of films.
The next screening in the series will be Lars von Trier's Palme d'Or-winning musical, DANCING IN THE BED, on 17 April at 19:00. Björk's Oscar-winning score and Cannes-winning starring role have conquered the world's major festivals and redrawn the boundaries of the musical genre for nearly a quarter of a century.

ABOUT THE FILM
The young Selma, played by Björk, emigrates from Eastern Europe to America in the 1960s. A pure soul and a fan of musicals, she works in a factory. She is trying to raise the money to pay for an operation to save her son from a hereditary eye disease that is slowly causing him to lose his sight. "Time grows shorter and, groping in the gloom, the countdown begins. The noise of the machines in the surreal and inhuman work creates the musical basis for the songs that unfold in Björk's imagination."
