A group of actors disillusioned with the theatre look for a new profession. They open a burnout sanatorium where they host activists from Budapest.

The guests of the Pension are all fighting for a fairer, more liveable, better world, each in their own field. But at what cost? And who are they? Are they the heroes of our times, or provocateurs, or bored fools?

The Hope Pension is a documentary show focusing on grassroots initiatives - the drivers of society who often find themselves in the crosshairs of politics. The play deals with their motivations, their successes and their failures. Not only their personal stories, but they themselves play a leading role in the production, alongside the members of the company.

Through them, the staff of the Pension tries to understand where to find hope nowadays, so that one day they too can return to their everyday work: the theatre, with renewed vigour.
