The 70th birthday of Lajos Parti Nagy is a celebration of contemporary Hungarian literature and a great opportunity to re-read this unparalleled poetic oeuvre, from Angyalstop to Szódalovaglás, Grafitnes and the latest poems.
Reading the volume, the inner movements of the oeuvre emerge; we see how the distinctive characters are born, how the heroes with the talking names and the talking a lot are given voice and face. Lajos Parti Nagy's writing is in constant dialogue with everyday spoken language and with the million traditions of Hungarian literature, and by reading this book we too become part of this conversation.
