VISIONS TO ANOTHER DIMENSION
On Sunday late afternoon, 12 May 2024, our group exhibition "VISIONS TO ANOTHER DIMENSION" will move to a new venue, featuring the work of 8 artists.
Some of us have known each other for years, others only met during last year's festival season - but one thing is for sure, what inspires our work is very similar and interconnected.

Schedule
The exhibition will be held in the new Free Bistro, Free New Place, located at 30 Víg Street, 8th district.
👀 Although we will not organize an opening ceremony, we welcome everyone to join us for a casual conversation after the installation, as you will find many of us there later in the evening.
We will also be holding a live painting / guided tour the following week - but we will let you know about that later - follow the posts at the event. 🙂
❗ The exhibition will be open for nearly a month, during the opening hours of the Free New Space.

"With my drawings I want to depict surreal stories and dreams that I have personally experienced and that are important to me.
I work mostly with needle felt, because with this tool I can immerse myself endlessly in creating various organic, natural images - every line bends, curves, turns or spirals. I use a variety of surfaces as a base for these, such as woodcuts and circular canvas."

"I like to form an opinion with my right hand. To give a face, a form, a gesture to a negative experience I had a few days before... or to a larger scale event in the world that I, as a terrestrial, have to react to in my own language. It's also striking to me that the little new worlds I create in my paintings are actually my very personal reality - the way I see my surroundings, the way I reflect on events. For example, it feels very liberating to export intense emotions onto my canvases. I would liken it to a big sigh that you've been holding back for a long time. In this case a big, colourful, surrealistic sigh. That's why I often call my paintings 'visual diaries'."

"In addition to his frivolous, controversial and often surreal images, the Budapest-born graffiti artist-turned-graphic artist has previously worked as a cinematographer and animator at Umbrella creative studio, but also as a clothing designer for Bp Clothing, made extreme dolls and album covers for bands, wine labels, logos, and much more. Recently he has also been making relief sculptures using various restoration techniques. He is currently one of the visual residents of the O.Z.O.R.A. Festival, and has designed several Dome and Pumpui venues. He is also currently an active creator in the Ozora area. He also has a permanent tattoo parlour in Budapest, where he mostly works as a tattoo artist outside the festival."

"Our world is full of experiences. I have been given the gift of being able to take in visual experiences with a special kind of empathy. I am fascinated by the beautiful colours and patterns that appear in our physical world. Especially those that appear in nature. I blend these experiences with my own inner world, from which my paintings are born. I draw a lot of inspiration from nature, music and people. I put a lot of energy into my work and the biggest blessing is when another person enjoys it in some way."

"In my textile work I like to be different from the ordinary, to work at the intersection of mediums and techniques that create new realities for themselves.
This work is lifted out of its usual context by the use of thread and its environment, making it a departure from the kitchen wall. Apart from a slight alteration, the way of depiction is classic folklore, which I was able to buy, pre-drawn, from a traditionalist group.
Meanwhile, we can be sure that our grandmothers didn't just go mushrooming in the woods, taking every step away from the church steeple hiding in the upper left corner, which has been transformed into a large stage in this textile Ozora."

"I have been creating as long as I can remember. The fine and applied arts are close to my heart, especially the ethereal psychedelic line.
I started painting with acrylics almost a year ago and have really grown to love the medium."

- STEFANIA TINGYELA -
"I think attention is key. It's how you turn a chrysalis into a butterfly,- free associations, surreal imagery into a deeper understanding. With my work I want to open up a space of free cognition, in which the recipient can enter into a dialogue with himself."

- KRISZTINA VÁRNAI -
"I have been painting with acrylic since 2016. I don't give my paintings a title, as the painting itself is written in a visual language, so there are as many recipients as there are meanings."
