The story of Julie (Renate Reinsve), in her twenties and thirties, was a resounding success at the Cannes International Film Festival, winning the Best Actress award and then travelling to festivals around the world to win new fans.
We follow Julie over four years, as the Norwegian girl tries to make the right, life-changing choices in her love life and career - even if her sometimes deliberate, sometimes rash choices hurt those she loves, or herself. For Julie to get her life back on track, she must first find and accept herself - a bumpy road to admitting this.
