Bambie Thug's concerts are spectacular, seance-like performances, and we will soon be able to attend his first Budapest appearance on 19 September at the Akvárium Club. Born in Cork, Ireland, Bambie Thug breaks gender and socio-political stereotypes to create an epoch-making sound that straddles the boundaries of pop, rock, electronica and other musical elements. Bambie Thug describes his own music as ouija-pop, making major waves with his music over the past few years, such as the critically acclaimed Cathexis EP. Bambie represented Ireland in this year's Eurovision Song Contest with her magical song Doomsday Blue, which took her to 6th place - the highest placing for an Irish artist in 24 years. The song is about the feeling of being overlooked for your potential and is also an ode to the queer community. Its sound takes the listener from alt-witchy verses, through killer screams and jazzy interludes, to pop choruses, before culminating in a metallic roar of electronic and heavy guitars.
