The pictures of Tamás Rizsavi are known and loved by many of us. With his help we can view our environment from a perspective we never dreamed existed. In his photographs, a familiar world is revealed to us as we have never seen it before.

The young artist works as a train driver in his civilian life, and in his free time he photographs life in Budapest from a perspective that is not usually his usual one. He climbs on top of bridges, prefabricated buildings and domes to show the capital from an angle we have never seen before. He also spends a lot of time wandering the streets of Budapest to capture the really special moments.

"What can I write about myself, it's not easy, maybe not even possible in a few lines... I have been attracted to the world of transport since childhood, and I have managed to visit, see and record many places. This is also where my photography started, but I won't write any more about that, the pictures will tell you anyway!

I don't have to write much about photography as such, as it means different things to different people, it's completely subjective. "The word 'photograph' in Hungarian has a lucky synonym: 'to capture'. It conveys a sense of the desire to capture the passing of time, to preserve a world that is fleeting. Time and photography are inseparable. Exposure bids farewell to a moment: the present becomes the past at the press of a button. In the image, we preserve the imprint of what was."

My favourite subjects are traffic and urban life, landscapes and the secret world of the night, but in itself it is true if I can capture it from a perspective of a place where we live in the grey world of everyday life, which is special and outstanding in the literal sense of the word..."

The exhibition is open from 14 September to 29 September, opening days.
