David Zellner, Nathan Zellner - Sasquatch SunsetDavid Zellner and Nathan Zellner's latest film premiered at Sundance 2024. In 2010, they made their first film on the subject, Sasquatch Birth Journal 2, and their enthusiasm is reflected in the fact that they created a website (http://sasquatchbirthjournal.com/index.html) for the film. This later grew into Sasquatch Sunset, a feature film that follows a family of bigfoots through the mystical forests of North America over the course of a year.Together they struggle to survive, embark on new adventures and explore the ever-changing world around them. The film stars American actors Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough, among others.

Leos Carax - It's Not MeOne of the most exciting figures in contemporary cinema, Leos Carax (Annette, Holy Motors, Boy Meets Girl) premiered his latest film It's Not Me at Cannes this year. In this 40-minute experimental essay film, Carax reflects on his own work and his relationship with late Godard films. But not for a moment in the academic sense of essay, oeuvre, analysis. He creates a world of his own into which the viewer can enter happily, unknowingly, as the texture of the film and his reflections on its cinematicity make for a captivating experience. It is more a painterly self-portrait than a filmographic summary.

Radu Ciornicius - Acasa, My HomeOn the outskirts of Bucharest is the VÄcÄreÈti Nature Park, a 180-hectare marshy area around Lake VÄcÄreÈti, declared an environmental protection area in 2014.This is where Radu Ciornicius, an investigative journalist by profession, started shooting his first film in 2016.The film focuses on a family of eleven who have lived in the area for twenty years. However, recent environmental regulations force them to leave their residence and move to Bucharest. The film also sensitively explores the emotional and political side of a very topical issue today. How politics, the city, nature and the needs of the people living in it can all be met at the same time, or if they can at all. The film was produced over four years and in 2020 won top prizes at the most prestigious documentary film festivals worldwide.
