OMMA
In the OMMA, the Hungarian-born, world-renowned choreographer József Nagy (Josef Nadj) has assembled a team of eight dancers from Mali, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and the two Congo. The performance is permeated by the diverse influences, cultures, movements and stories they bring; each representing their own language, identity and dance, yet their group becomes almost one body. This relationship between individual and community leads us to show man as a universal being.

OMMA goes back to the roots of dance, where movement is the essence and the universe is the horizon. It seeks the origin of things and seeks to prove the choreographer's premise that dance was born with humanity. If this is so, is not a return to the source of dance and movement a return to the origin of the universe?
In exploring the circle of life, the performance points to something essential: our ability to truly see and notice the world around us, to recognize what lies deep within us, our common destiny. In this way, the meaning of the ancient Greek word OMMA is given a new light: 'the eye', or 'all that we see or look at'.
The performance lasts 55 minutes without intermission.

This venue in Buda, which has been renovated inside and out, is putting on near 50 productions, premieres, musical performances and literary presentations, children’s events, dance and theatre shows, plus screenings of domestic and international films.
