Celebrating the spirit of Andy Warhol, the 96-year-old genius who believed that art belongs to everyone. Warhol was as much at one with the painting stars of his day as he was with the corner shoe shop assistant, and who proclaimed BORN TO MIX! Let's get together, talk contemporary art, and party till dawn in a way that Warhol would nod to.
With the extravagant ABSOLUT WARHOL ART PARTY event, HENGERMALOM, Budapest's temporary cultural venue, will debut as part of Valyo's experimental pop-up event series, called Kelesztés, until 19 October. For the first time, you will have the chance to enter the once noisy factory building, which after years of silence and mystery is once again filled with life and music.

ANDY WARHOL AND ABSOLUT BLUE
For fans of special spaces, contemporary visual and light art and electronic music, the Buda Hengermalom is waiting for you on 11 October. The former rolling mill will turn blue for one night to pay tribute to art, architecture and Andy Warhol.
He loved its form, poured its contents over him like perfume, and regarded it as his muse: the relationship between Andy Warhol and Absolut vodka is a long and passionate one. In the eighties, the pioneering genius painter dedicated two paintings to his beloved drink. Rediscovered in 2020, the second painting, Absolut 'Blue', will be on show to the European public for the first time this October at the Spritmuseum in Stockholm.
To celebrate the occasion, Absolut has adapted the iconic nude blue painting for a limited edition bottle and, as part of the art project THE OTHER HALF, has invited young local artists from the online gallery YOUNGART to "complement" the original work by taking Warhol's painting further and creating something new in their own style and personality, thus entering into a dialogue with the 96-year-old artist. THE OTHER HALF is also complemented by light installations reflecting on Warhol's work, thanks to the INOTA Festival's light art curators, bringing to life cult works such as Silver Clouds in the industrial space of the Buda Seamless Mill.

The two iconic buildings of the HENGERMALOM and the area between them are being made more vibrant, usable and lovable as a pilot project by the City and River Association (Valyo), with the aim of bringing communities together. The EXPLORE series of events from 11 to 19 October is an important milestone in the temporary community use of the HENGERMALOM. During the event, you will have the opportunity to visit the special spaces of the HENGERMALOM, take part in community, cultural, gastronomic and professional activities organised by Valyo and its partners, and implement your own ideas.
