MOBB DEEP

The guys first met in high school, where legend has it that Havoc tried to rob P (or maybe he did). They first formed as Poetical Prophets and tried to get into record labels by breaking in and playing their own tape recordings of their own tape for the artists they were facing, which is how they got the attention of Q-Tip.

Schedule

1993 saw the release of their first album, "Juvenile Hell", with the help of legendary producers (e.g. Premier and Large Professor). 1995 saw the double album "The Infamous", produced mostly by Havoc, which was a great addition to the sound. 'Shook Ones Pt.2.' was also given new life by the likes of Eminem's 8 Mile, but whenever I hear a sparkling stove I immediately associate it with this trek. It was followed by their other legendary album 'Hell On Earth', followed by 5 more, but they were prolific as solos, especially Prodigy. He sadly passed away in 2017, so they've been without him since, but with the addition of Big Noyd - who is almost unofficially the third member of the band since 1993's Juvenile Hell, although he really exploded on 1995's Infamous - they're now touring the world with Havoc and carrying on the Mobb Deep name. They don't usually slack off at gigs, they don't put on a dozen gigs that smell of hook, they give their all to live shows. That's to be expected when they visit us again, and they're joined by the legendary Dj L.E.S., also in his own right, to get the Dürer Request crowd moving. An unmissable event for hiphop heads!

Location

Dürer Garden

Recently moved from its original location, the Dürer is a staple of Budapest's metal scene. But don't be scared, it's worth a visit even if you just want to have a couple of drinks by the Danube. From spring, of course.
