We are delighted to announce that a major concert by the band will be coming to Budapest on 22 December 2025, providing an unforgettable festive experience for the whole family. Since its premiere in 1990, "Scramble, burglars!" has become one of the most defining works of the festive season. World-renowned composer John Williams' magical and iconic film score is performed live by the Hungarian Studio Orchestra as the film is brought to life on the big screen.

The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, a resourceful 8-year-old boy who is accidentally left at home when his family goes on a Christmas vacation and is forced to defend his home from two clumsy burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).This hilarious and heartwarming story full of humour and holiday magic will provide an unforgettable experience for the whole family, where film and music come together in perfect harmony.

This iconic festive favourite features the charming and delightful music of renowned composer John Williams, performed live by the Hungarian Studio Orchestra during the screening of the film. The concert will be conducted by renowned conductor Ernst van Tiel, guaranteeing a truly unforgettable musical experience. Since its debut in 2013, Home Alone in Concert has been a seasonal favourite with both orchestras and audiences worldwide!

The film has also been nominated for two Academy Awards®, in the categories of Best Original Score and Best Original Score (Somewhere in My Memory).

The musicians of the Hungarian Studio Orchestra have been playing together in a wide variety of musical productions since they were schoolchildren, more than 15 years. Our orchestra specialises in studio recordings, and we have worked with some of the greatest musicians in the world, including Ennio Morricone, Michel Legrand, Michael Price, Patrick Doyle, Sheridan Tongue, Richard Harvey, Bill Connor, Graham Preskett, Nick Wollage, Michael Richard Plowman, Tom Garrad-Cole, Kornél Fekete-Kovács, Péter Pejtsik and many others. In addition to classical music, they are happy to take on jazz, light music and crossover commissions, from full symphony orchestras to the smallest chamber ensembles, in any configuration.
