Nora and Hae-sung were best friends as children, but a young girl's move separated them. Twenty years later they find each other again online, but as adults they are at a very different place in their lives. She's a successful writer in New York, in a serious relationship, while he's adrift in Seoul. They begin to reconnect through the internet, and a true and deep adult friendship develops between the childhood comrades. However, Hae-sung's visit to New York triggers an unexpected emotional avalanche in both of them, forcing them to finally face their true feelings.
Produced by A24 and screening in competition at the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlinale, Previous Lives is "the best film you'll see this year", according to Rolling Stone.
