Doku7 Filmfesztivál - My sisters are not for sale
Doku7 Film Festival - Documentary Film Weeks in Erzsébetváros!
Every Thursday from 6 February to 20 March 2025, award-winning documentaries will be screened in K11! Doku7 2025 will bring to the audience films that tell the stories of everyday heroes among us, people who work every day to make the world a better place, the lives of those around them and the world around them.
Schedule
Amir is a fourteen-year-old Iranian shepherd boy. His father's death makes him the head of the family, who has to take care of his mother and 12-year-old twin sisters Marzieh and Razieh. He has to make a difficult decision when his 18-year-old sister dies, leaving behind her young child: he should marry one of his little sisters to her widow, a much older man. Amir, still a child himself, bravely tries to free the little girls from the heavy shackles of tradition, despite the village's disapproval and constant harassment.
