In the midst of the Syrian uprising in Aleppo, young director Waad al-Kateab tells the story of five years: how she falls in love, marries and gives birth to her daughter Sama, while the world is falling apart around her. Waad's young doctor husband fights to the death for the lives of the survivors of the destruction caused by the Syrian government and Russian-led aircraft. Innocent civilian lives.
In the midst of incredible storms of emotion, joy, grief, survival, Waad finally comes to a crossroads: whether to stay in the hell of the cataclysm or flee the city for the safety of her daughter, even if fleeing means giving up the fight for freedom for which she has sacrificed so much...
