"It's terribly funny, claustrophobic, hectic and obvious to live in a family.
When I was a kid, time was slow. Examining a spot of light on the carpet, or by the time I went from middle school to big group. My father recorded hours of footage of me and my brother on tape while we were drinking cocoa in the kitchen or discussing the origin of the world. The few minutes have been recorded when the clock strikes midnight at the turn of the millennium, and nineteen hundred and ninety-nine becomes two thousand.
We're all sitting on a bunch of couches, my mom's smooth-faced, thirty-something, some TV show lighting them up, and social furniture, my brother's an eggplant-sized crumpled, sleeping noose. In another video, My Father asks me what a theater director does and I say: I don't know. Now I'm starting to suspect that time is speeding up a lot and we're not sitting on a pile anymore."
