"In 2021, I was still at university in Târgu Mures when the idea came up to write the story of a young boy's foster care for my thesis. First of all, I was interested in the secrets: how does a family of, say, four people end up in the care of child protection? What are the internal and interpersonal conflicts that are most likely to be involved in this process? And finally: what is the thin red line beyond which such an outcome becomes inevitable? These are not only humanly fascinating questions, but they have also fired my dramatic imagination. After all, we were looking for extreme situations for such an extreme event as the removal of a child from a family. There are many reasons why such an event might occur. The most serious of these is child neglect and abuse, which can occur not only in an institutional setting but also within the immediate family. I did not want to tell a trauma story. My aim was to unravel the truth of these extreme situations. In the end, it turned out that I was able to capture all this from a child's point of view," Réka Somorjai, the author of the play, told Prae.hu.
