It happened in Palestine, A.D. 39 -41. The Governor of Caligula is one of the highlights of Hungarian drama. It explores the relationship between lies and truth, searching for the answer to the question of how a man can remain a man, whether he exercises power or is exposed to those who exercise it.

It is about honour, friendship and loyalty. And betrayal and self-deception. It's about whether to carry out orders, no matter how insane, or sacrifice everything to defy them. Is he a traitor who finds his country in his humanity, or is he doomed to fall.

There will come madmen and mad situations.
There will never be one that is not forced upon us.
Their lethargy, their madness
The madmen - for this wretched race
Can be forced to do anything.
Only think: compulsion is an excuse
As long as you have a boss, you have an excuse." - they say in the play.
But we all know that all excuses are self-deception..."
In 2011, the production was selected by the Guild of Theatre Critics as one of the best independent productions.
