French Institute
Founded in 1947, the French Institute of Hungary is one of the oldest foreign cultural centres in Budapest. The Institute was first located in SzekfƱ Street, and since 1992 it has been located in FĆ Street, on the Buda side. The multi-disciplinary cultural centre has a language school and examination centre, a media bar, a cinema room, an information corner on studying in France, a bookshop and a cafĂ© on the ground floor. By fostering educational, scientific, inter-university and cultural cooperation, the French Institute in Hungary aims to strengthen links between Hungary and France and to promote the free flow of ideas and opinions.
