From the director of the Golden Bear-winning and Oscar-nominated On Body and Soul, Ildikó Enyedi’s new film is based on Milán Füst’s novel of the same name, translated into more than 20 languages and once submitted for the Nobel Prize in Literature. In this lush, One Thousand and One Nights-style love story, through the charming and painfully honest figure of Captain Störr, we experience the complexity, mystery, fragile beauty, and elusive nature of life through our senses.

In this twist-filled, fast-paced journey into the labyrinth of passion, Captain Störr is played by Dutch actor Gijs Naber, and his wife Lizzy is portrayed by international star Léa Seydoux (James Bond, Mission: Impossible, Blue Is the Warmest Color). The film also features Louis Garrel (The Dreamers), Sergio Rubini (Interview), Jasmine Trinca (Fortunata), Josef Hader (Farewell to Europe), Ulrich Matthes (Downfall), Udo Samel (Babylon Berlin), as well as Sándor Funtek and Károly Hajduk.
