◉ After hosting Tim Reaper, Mantra, and Coco Bryce, RIGHT TIME continues with another international guest close to our hearts: this time, Equinox takes over the Gólya stage with his fierce, unpredictable drum patterns! The return of one of the UK jungle and drumfunk scene’s most prominent figures to Budapest has long been a dream of ours – and on November 14th we finally get to experience what Marlon brings behind the decks.

Equinox began his journey in the early ’90s, releasing his first EP The Brain Crew at just 15 years old, produced on two Amiga computers and an Akai S950 sampler. One version of the release became legendary for missing its opening bars, creating a unique mixing challenge for DJs at the time.
In 1994, together with Paul Watson, he founded the label Scientific Wax, driven by the “rough with the smooth” ethos: exploring the balance between heavy breakbeats and smoother basslines. Its first release, the Dark & Mellow compilation, quickly achieved cult status and laid the groundwork for the label’s future. Over the years, artists such as B-Key, Rumbleton, Jubei, Fracture, Dub-One, and Tim Reaper have all contributed their own colors to the imprint’s identity. To this day, Scientific Wax consistently delivers fresh material, remaining a stronghold for darker, rhythm-focused jungle and drumfunk.
Beyond running the label, Equinox is an accomplished producer in his own right, with tracks released on Reinforced, Future Retro London, Planet Mu, Metalheadz, Bassbin, AKO Beatz, and Green Bay Wax.
His DJ sets are always explosive and immersive, seamlessly blending brand-new dubplates with timeless classics. Over the past two decades, he has repeatedly captivated Budapest crowds, resonating with the music through every part of his being and leaving an indelible mark on the local scene. Through his Scientific Wax Show he regularly showcases fresh releases and exclusive dubplates, while offering glimpses into the label’s future. On November 14th, he’s set to prove once again why he’s regarded as one of jungle and drumfunk’s most respected DJs and producers.
