Liszt Ünnep | Lukas Ligeti and Hypercolor feat. Fekete-Kovács Kornél

The New York avant-garde band Hypercolor Trio has been playing together for nearly two decades, but their first album was only released in 2015. As the prestigious American jazz magazine JazzTimes put it, "the wait was worth it, as the band has come up with a raw, wildly creative mix that provokes with punk melodies and rhythmic adventurousness, and whose style is difficult to classify. Jazz? Rock? A creature seen in a Frank Zappa-style distorted mirror? Whatever you call it, it's undeniably a bold and exciting journey." According to PopMatters' review, in the Hypercolor Trio, "Maoz provides the Israeli scales. Ilgenfritz trained in jazz and classical music, but calls himself a noise-rock fan. As a percussionist, Ligeti has absorbed significant African polyrhythmic influences over time, and as the son of György Ligeti, he is well acquainted with European styles."

The concert is part of the Liszt Festival, organized by Müpa Budapest in collaboration with the Budapest Music Center.
