Schedule

For a long time, the architectural world of the Grand Boulevard palaces, now highly appreciated, was little researched and very much underestimated by architectural historians.

The construction of the Grand Boulevard was the second most important urban architectural undertaking in Monarchy-era Budapest after Andrássy Avenue.

The ornate buildings of the Palotasor were lavishly decorated with towers and domes, but once you enter the gates, you are touched by the atmosphere of an earlier age in the inner courtyards, away from the noise of traffic! In 1839, Count István Széchenyi proposed the idea of a navigable canal around Pest, immediately after the Great Flood of Pest, roughly on the line of today's boulevard. I wonder what happened to all these ideas - which now seem far-fetched -?

Location

Budapest

The best things to do in Budapest! Several medieval bridges connect the 2 sides of the city that give it its name: Buda and Pest. Cruising along the Danube is a great way to see Budapest in all its glory.
