This year’s Budapest International Film Festival exhibition presents the world-renowned Dutch cinematographer and photographer Robby Müller’s works. Müller collaborated with directors such as Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch, and Lars von Trier, and was the director of photography for iconic films like Paris, Texas (1984), Down by Law (1986), and Breaking the Waves (1996).

Beyond the film set, Müller took countless photographs over the decades, with his Polaroids exhibited at major venues worldwide. His images—capturing in-between moments on set, hotel rooms, American cars, and urban landscapes—reflect his constant experimentation with light and color. Through his unique vision, everyday scenes are transformed into poetic, lyrical atmospheres.
The exhibition opening on November 2 at the Capa Center is organized by BIFF, in collaboration with Andrea Müller-Schirmer, founder of the Robby Müller Archive, the Annet Gelink Gallery, the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, and the Eötvös10 Cultural Centre, with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands.
