Charles Bukowski: Ponyva – a colorful, Hungarian-language play in one act
The more times we perform our play Ponyva, the more delighted we are to invite everyone to our next Bukowski evening, this time in Pécs, at Szabadkikötő, following our performance in Budapest at Dugattyús. On November 5, starting at 7 p.m., actors Katica Nagy and Ádám Porogi, as well as Péter Pritz, Bukowski's translator, will present Charles Bukowski's novel Ponyva in a highly entertaining (and instructive) one-act play, which is special in many ways. It was the writer's last novel, in which he wrote about his own death in a very poetic way, and it was the first Bukowski volume to be published in Hungary 20 years ago by our favorite Vén Kujon.

Schedule
The reason for the premiere is that this brilliant detective novel parody, which seemingly stands out from Bukowski's oeuvre, has been republished this year in the Trubadúr Pocket Books series. Why, to what extent, or to what extent not, will be revealed at Szabadkikötő in a short introduction by the translator before the play.
