Psycho Mutants

Psycho Mutants is a defining Pécs underground band, musically unclassifiable. For many, their concerts at Kultiplexes, Corvintetős or Gödör Klubos refer to the best days of Budapest's underground life, from the second half of the 2000s. They are also mentioned at parties at Kino Café or Rák Café when the golden age of Pécs is mentioned.

Mutánsok is primarily a concert band, and during their performances they invite the audience to the most party-like rock'n'roll dances, starting from the darkest moods. Their music lies somewhere on the border between dark country and psychedelic rock'n'roll, spiced with mariachi atmospheres, as if we were listening to the soundtrack of a dark thriller.

Schedule

In addition to the special line-up and sound - which is largely due to the presence of the tango accordion and the trumpet - the charisma of Zoli Karnics and the bass-baritone organ that resonates in the hearts are the main attraction of the band. The Mutánsok have played almost more abroad than at home in the past twenty years, and their albums have been released on several foreign labels.

The dark, mainly psychedelic rock and country-rock borderline Motherland, the band's last album, is one of the most important milestones in the band's life. It is mature, complex, but at the same time cleaner and more homogeneous than the previous ones, revealing the challenges, fears and emotions of the past.

The album was released by the French Beast Records, which is a huge recognition for a Hungarian band. Beast is one of the most significant labels on the underground scene, collaborating with artists such as Tex Perkins, Burn in Hell, Weird Omen, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard or Mr. Airplane Man.

The Mutánsok can rarely be seen in Budapest anymore. This time, the SocRealProd brothers will select the wildest and most atmospheric garage and psychedelic tracks before and after the concert, exclusively from vinyl (or rather, singles).
