On Friday, November 28, at 7 p.m., Réka Bucsi will give a lecture in the main hall of Lumen Café on the topic of "Between Authorship and Commission." Réka Bucsi has extensive experience in both commissions and the creation of successful auteur films. She has worked on commissions for FX Networks, Cartoon Network, Netflix, Adult Swim, and Apple Music, among others, and her auteur films, such as Symphony No. 42, Love, and Solar Walk, have been successful at prestigious festivals.

Réka Bucsi graduated from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design with a master's degree in animation, where her graduation film Symphony no. 42 was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2014. Since then, she has made LOVE, a French-Hungarian co-production exploring the diversity of love, and, at the request of Denmark, she directed a one-hour background animation for the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, which also resulted in the short film Solar Walk. Réka has returned to the Berlinale every two years since 2014, but while she previously participated in the competition program with her short films, in 2020 she was a member of the jury. In the meantime, she has worked on many smaller projects, including presentations at Pictoplasma in Berlin and New York, as well as at the FMX conference in Stuttgart, and she has also held workshops at CalArts in the United States. During quarantine, she made a short film for Vimeo, inspired by the Hungarian plant shop Plante. Most recently, she worked for Apple Music on a project called Project Whitney, creating original animations for unique playlists. In 2021, she became a voting member of the American Film Academy. He is currently working on a feature-length film project titled The Great Silence.
