Opening of ice rinks around Lake Balaton

In a few weeks, ice rinks and holiday markets will fill the streets and squares of towns and cities across the country with festive cheer. Every year, more and more ice rinks open around Lake Balaton, and this year we can definitely go ice skating at these locations.

Siófok

An ice rink is planned to be built again this year as one of the winter attractions. The exact opening date depends on weather conditions, but if temperatures are sufficiently low, the ice rink is scheduled to open on November 28.

Zamárdi

With the help of the local government, the Zamárdi Nyitva Association is organizing the Zamárdi Winter Promenade again this year, which will include an ice rink among its programs. The promenade will open its doors on December 20.

Balatonalmádi

According to the November issue of Új Almádi Újság, the ice rink is scheduled to open on November 30.

Balatonboglár

Preparations for the ice rink have begun in Balatonboglár. The ice rink is scheduled to open at the end of November, with the exact date depending on the weather.

Fonyód

On November 29, skaters will be welcomed in Fonyód with a "larger rink, a small ice corridor, a fenced-off practice area for the little ones, lots of new services, numerous unique attractions, and gastronomic novelties." This year, an adventure park called Fonyódi Csodavilág (Fonyód Wonderland) is planned for the southern shore town, where more than 20 attractions will be on display.

Balatonfüred

The ice rink in Balatonfüred will open on December 13 this year, and before that, on the 12th, everyone will be able to try out the ice on a zero day. Known as the ice corridor, the venue has grown into a real rink system in recent years, connecting different parts of the city and its restaurants.

Nemesvámos

The opening of the ice rink in Nemesvámos has also been announced. Between November 15 and January 15, the rink will be open every day for two months, in two shifts: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A buffet will also be available during the afternoon shift.

Keszthely

The ice rink on Energia Square in Keszthely will be open to skaters again this year. The ice rink will open on December 6 and is scheduled to be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Szigliget

No specific date has been announced yet, but it is certain that from the beginning of December, we will be able to skate at the Szigliget Castle Courtyard, and in addition to the ice rink, there will be even more programs this year.

Zalakaros

The Jégre Mindenki (Everyone on Ice) team is also building an ice rink in Zalakaros this year, which will open on November 30 at the Karos Korzón. According to the published announcement, the skating experience will be complemented by a fair atmosphere and concerts.

Ice rink in Ajka

It would have been impossible to beat Ajka this year, as the city's ice rink has been open to ice skaters since September. The Ajka Ice Rink offers visitors a professional ice surface and an ice bar, and it will also be possible to rent skates and purchase season tickets.

Veszprém

The season also started early in Veszprém: public skating has been available at the Veszprém Ice Rink since October 18. Various programs are also organized at the ice rink, and on Saturdays, visitors can enjoy an ice disco.
