Schedule
Many years ago, in a rehearsal room in Dunaújváros, the first few chords were strummed that would later give birth to the entire Quimby universe and capture the hearts of listeners.
With their symbolic lyrics and passionate performances, their concerts are always a bit like stepping into a crazy theater play: one moment we are watching a romantic musical, the next a comedy or a heart-wrenching drama, and they draw the audience in with them – who happily surrender to Quimby's cocky rock and roll, intoxicating melodies, and hypnotic shamanic boogie.
The six-piece band consisting of Tibor Kiss (vocals, guitar), Livius Varga (percussion, vocals), Szilárd Balanyi (keyboards), József Kárpáti (trumpet), Ferenc Mikuli (bass guitar), Ferenc Gerdesits - drums, have left an indelible mark on Hungarian pop music with their many eclectic albums, while developing their own unmistakable sound over the years.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
