Mester Dániel Trió, vendég: Balogh Kálmán

2026-01-14T19:00:00.000Z

Dániel Mester traveled the world to find his own musical universe, which encompasses Anatolian melodies, Indonesian scales, and imaginary Hungarian folk songs. The wind instrument player began his musical career as a classical clarinetist, then moved on to jazz saxophone. He completed his higher education in Amsterdam at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, which not only gave him the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world (South Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil, Morocco) as a performing artist, but also to learn about musical traditions outside the Western musical tradition. He has been involved in film scoring, and is currently finding new inspiration in his studies of Turkish classical and folk music, the influence of which is reflected in his own compositions. His long-cherished dream of founding his own trio has come true with the calm brought about by the pandemic, allowing him to look back and look ahead. He invited two talented musicians from the young Hungarian jazz generation, guitarist Péter Cseh and drummer Tamás Hidász, to join him in this musical adventure, and at this concert they will be joined by the devilishly virtuoso cimbalom player Kálmán Balogh.
