Pelikan Blue

***Not recommended for children under 16.***

The Blue Pelican is the first feature-length animated film to evoke recent Hungarian history with dry humor and documentary techniques.

The animated film is made in the style of American indie films, with artistic sophistication. The freedom of the late 1980s and early 1990s, the atmosphere of anticipation during the change of regime, is reflected in László Csáki's animation with its dry humor and strong, distinctive visual world.

Over the years, the director conducted interviews with people whose lives were changed forever by international travel with forged train tickets written in blue Pelikan indigo.

The film is a true journey into nostalgia, featuring contemporary music such as Induljon a banzáj! by Bonanza Banzai, Lidocain by Hiperkarma, and Húsrágó hídverő by Kispál és a Borz.
