The title refers to the horse that Friedrich Nietzsche encountered on January 3, 1889, as he stepped out of his lodging in Turin. Over the course of six days, the film follows the everyday life of a father and his daughter in the middle of nowhere, on an isolated, abandoned farm.

In honor of the film’s writer, László Krasznahorkai, recipient of the Nobel Prize, we will hold a special re-screening of the film in December 2025.
