Schedule

The Man from London is Tarr's penultimate feature film and one of his most unique. He directed it together with his wife, Ágnes Hranitzky, based on a 1934 Belgian crime novel adapted by László Krasznahorkai. It was made in a complicated international co-production and at great cost, and became Tarr's debut film at Cannes in 2007.

Maloin, the night watchman, sees increasingly strange things from his tower, and then descends into the world of crime himself. Will he manage to make the right decisions, or will he be swallowed up by darkness forever? A Kafkaesque neo-noir starring Miroslav Krobot, Tilda Swinton, and Erika Bók.

The screening is free of charge and will be followed by a discussion.
