Art & Sip by Apollo Gallery x Time Out Market Budapest
Art Series at Time Out Market Budapest

Schedule
Once a month, we invite the public to discover the work and world of the Apollo Gallery’s current exhibiting artist.
During each event, three selected artworks will be installed inside The Vault — right next to the Spirit Bar — and guests will have the chance to meet the artist in an intimate, conversational setting.
Our first guest is Botond Részegh, who will speak about his series “Hátamra vettelek… hátadra vettél”.
Részegh’s current exhibition at Apollo Gallery offers a glimpse into the complexities of the human psyche. His paintings place a mirror before the viewer, revealing both fragility and inner strength. The works — created over the past decade — explore the notion of human interdependence (as poet Sándor Kányádi so precisely described), while highlighting the experimental nature of both his canvas and paper-based works.
The wandering human figures — who ultimately reflect ourselves — hover between despair and hope, love and rejection, drawn irresistibly to the possibility of connecting with another person in order to confront the uncertainty of existence.
Botond Részegh lives and works between Csíkszereda and Budapest. Between 2018 and 2024 he was represented by Yi Gallery in New York. Since 2011 he has served as artistic director of Új Kriterion / New Criterion Gallery in Csíkszereda, where he has presented the work of 74 Hungarian and Romanian artists, each accompanied by its own catalogue. In 2018 he received a scholarship from the Hungarian Academy of Arts and spoke at TEDxDanubia alongside Csaba Pléh.
To complement the evening, the Market will present a limited-edition cocktail created specially for the event — inspired visually and conceptually by the artist’s work. The cocktail will be available at the Spirit Bar throughout the event.
Entry is free. Reserve your table now:
