Sentimental Value
Joachim Trier, director of The Worst Person in the World, returns with a new film in which Nora and Agnes reconnect with their estranged father, Gustav, after a long time apart. A charismatic man who was once a celebrated filmmaker, he offers Nora a role in his comeback movie. She turns it down, and the part ultimately goes to an eager young Hollywood actress. The sisters are forced into a difficult situation: they must navigate their complicated relationship with their father while also coping with the fact that an American movie star has landed right in the middle of their messy family dynamics.
