The campfire crackles during a childhood vacation at Lake Balaton. A sculptor strums a zither, while a young boy dances the verbunk. Behind the instrument sits Pál Kő, already a nationally renowned artist at the time, while the six- to eight-year-old boy dancing the verbunk was me – now the director of the National Dance Theater. This is one of my earliest memories of Lujos.
