The protagonist of *The Dalai Lama – The Teachings of Happiness* is His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama himself, who, at nearly 90 years old, sits face-to-face with the audience to speak about life’s simple questions—happiness, suffering, peace, and compassion—with a directness and wisdom that is at once timeless and urgently relevant.

The film is not a traditional biographical portrait or a collection of teachings, but rather a moving meditation in which one of humanity’s greatest thinkers looks directly into the camera—and thus into us. Against the backdrop of the world’s current environmental, social, and moral crises, the film shows how we can still live with hope: by seeking the source of happiness within ourselves, which in turn holds the key to solutions. It also provides practical guidance and simple coping techniques that can be integrated into everyday life for anyone striving for a more balanced and harmonious existence.
