Attila Dargay’s third highly successful animated film, *Szaffi*, is set during the final days of Turkish occupation. The nobleman Botsinkay Jónás, raised among gypsies, and Szaffi, a girl raised by a witch (along with her cat of the same name), fall in love through a series of adventures. The romantic story, characteristic of Dargay’s films, is filled with charming animal characters, parodic and hilarious dialogues. The voice acting has become cult classic over the years.
