Guided tour by Zoltán Ginelli at the Golden Repair exhibition
2026-03-07T15:00:00.000Z
How can we understand each other through our colonial experiences, which sometimes seem so distant? How can critical art contribute to healing the wounds of colonialism, and how can it awaken us to our own colonial history?
The exhibition Fine Joints – Golden Repair is presented by critical geographer and global historian Zoltán Ginelli in a way that is unique in the Hungarian context, taking a colonial-critical approach. By placing the works in dialogue with Hungarian historical and social contexts, he invites us on a journey in search of global connections.
The key concept of the guided tour is translation: it reverses the divisive colonial logic of museum spaces and seeks to create a common language instead of isolated narratives incapable of dialogue. It breathes new life into works that represent separate, resistant voices and subversive memories in the exhibition space through the liberating power of associative dialogue and connecting action.
