The Karitatíva Association is announcing a film competition for young creators, independent filmmakers, and civil society organizations who wish to reflect on current issues affecting our society through film.

🎯 The goal of this initiative is to create opportunities for creative, sensitive, and honest expressions, as well as to encourage society to engage in shared reflection and dialogue through the medium of film.

🎥 PUBLIC SCREENING AT BEM CINEMA

The submitted films will be presented at a public screening on April 17, 2026, at Bem Cinema. The gala event will offer opportunities to meet the filmmakers in person, attend Q&A sessions, and discuss the themes of the films.

This occasion also serves as a space to initiate social discourse—where the films can have a direct impact on the audience.

In January 2016, the 108-year-old Bem Cinema will reopen its doors to the public, in a new way never seen before in Hungary: as a cinema of cult and classic films (no harm!), or as the educated French say (if you know your English): as a "repertory cinema".
