J. S. Bach: h-moll mise
The Ars Nova Sacra Singing Ensemble, which participated in the evening, set itself two basic artistic tasks. On the one hand, the performance of rarely heard works, and on the other hand, the individual, chamber performance of well-known works. An example is the performance of an oratorio with a small ensemble, as opposed to the usual large orchestra and large choir. He considers the most important task of the choir to be nurturing old music, but he also deals a lot with later periods of music history. An important goal is to cultivate as many different styles as possible, trying to embrace the choral art of the last thousand years of Europe. Within this, he tries to present as many works of outstanding value as possible.

Another contributor to the evening is the William Byrd Ensemble, which was founded in 1989 by the current conductor, Johanna Winnington-Ingram, from the teachers, students and friends of the Nádasdy Kálmán Art Primary School in Budafoki. The choir's repertoire ranges from Gregorian chant to Renaissance music to Baroque music, but it has also performed works by contemporary composers on several occasions. Its main goal is to introduce and spread the works of little-known Renaissance authors, especially the works of William Byrd, in Hungary.
The two choirs are accompanied on instruments by the Presto Chamber Ensemble, which was founded in 2008 by professional musicians. The ensemble with flute, two violins, viola, cello and piano is led by Krisztina Weidemann-Tóth, flautist. Since its foundation, the ensemble has given concerts in many places both at home and abroad. Their repertoire is diverse in terms of both secular and church genres: in addition to classical chamber pieces, their program also includes numerous concertos, symphonies, operas, cantatas and oratorios. The basic line-up is often expanded with additional musicians, opera singers and conductors. This time, the ensemble will also be expanded; in addition to additional woodwinds and strings, brass and timpani join the core team. The ensemble, which has grown to 22 members, together with excellent soloists and the two choirs, performs one of J.S. Bach's major works, the beautiful Mass in B minor, conducted by Johanna Winnington-Ingram. Show less.
