Ghost Funk Orchestra (US)
The Ghost Funk Orchestra is the brainchild of composer and multi-instrumentalist Seth Applebaum. What began as a one-man recording project has grown into a powerful live band. A sonic kaleidoscope that defies genre labels, yet is heavily influenced by soul, psychedelic rock, salsa, and beyond. Their unique genre blend has earned praise from NPR, Bandcamp, KUTX, Brooklyn Vegan, Earmilk, and others. Over the years, they have been honored to share the stage with artists such as Os Mutantes, Grace Potter, Marco Benevento, La Luz, Monophonics, The Nude Party, and The Jack Moves, and they have played at legendary festivals such as Montreal Jazz, Treefort, Telluride Jazz, Otis Mountain Get Down, and BRIC NYC Winter Jazz. The local New York blog, Post-Trash, described their sound as “a psychedelic odyssey of traditional sounds in a non-traditional way.” Bandcamp’s editorial director, J. A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
