The Sakura Festival is a decades-old tradition at the ELTE Botanical Garden (Füvészkert), closely tied to Japan’s iconic spring custom, Ohanami. When the Japanese cherry trees burst into bloom, visitors can picnic in the garden, settling on blankets to marvel at the pink clouds of flowers—just as it is customary in Japan.
