Self-contradiction has been one of the main themes of Artus for some time. How do essential concepts such as everything, nothing, forever, never and silence appear in our lives, which, if you think about it, do not exist in reality. Or do they? After all, we have been searching for them for thousands of years.
the little everything
The "little everything" - fractal - is the comprehensible, human scale of the great, eternal, infinite and incomprehensible Universe. So much of the totality that we experience, feel and sense during our lives. The small everything can appear in a gesture, a hug, a touch, a word, which is no more and no less than the breath of the "big everything".
What kind of person are you?
Are you open or closed? Selfish or selfless? Guilty or innocent? Rigid or flexible? Brave or cautious? Rule-following or self-regulating? Are you attracted to the old or the new? Do you learn or forget? Do you go up or down? Do your actions have a reason or a purpose?
Why have I never been able to honestly commit to any political party?
Why does it bother me to this day when a representative or believer of a religion considers his or her own to be the only true way? When millions of people believe one way, millions of people believe another, and millions more believe a third, can it be that only one group's view is true and the other millions of intelligent, thinking people are all wrong?
With different views, world views, opinions, beliefs, who is right?
What is this compulsive and obsessive exclusivity? Is there really only one true way? If two statements are contradictory, can only one be true or correct?
Or one or the other? Must we choose? Is there only one truth?
Or - or?
How easy, how simple it would be.
Something tells me it is otherwise.
Not "either - or", but "also - also".
I often feel at once open and closed, communal and solitary, confident and insecure, outgoing and inclusive, conservative and progressive. I am simultaneously up and down, coming and going, moving and still. I am both well and not. I am and I am not.

When we manage to live in a state of equilibrium of "all is also" instead of the forced "either-or", we can enter a human-scale universe of "little everything", where everyone can be themselves while still being connected to other people.

Artus
Artus is an open, diverse intellectual and creative workshop, a meeting place for people, ideas and art.
Artus is both Gábor Goda's company, the Artus Studio - a studio in an abandoned factory building of 2000 square metres - and the collective of 30 artists who work there, as well as the Association, which provides the institutional backdrop.
Founded in 1985, Artus is an independent, contemporary, all-arts collective. We have created more than 100 performances and presented them in 25 countries. Since the beginning we have organised international projects, residencies and co-productions.
The Studio's regular programmes include performances by the Artus company, guest performances, visual arts exhibitions, music and other cultural events, as well as self-awareness and movement workshops.
