UNDER500 festival
There will be U500 again this year, on 16-17 June 2023 at Artus Studio! The two-day festival, which in recent years has become an important platform for Hungarian contemporary dance and related independent art communities, will take place for the fourth time. U500 is a statement for independent culture. It is also a committed small format, friendly and professional event, where we seek new connections between each other, with other artists and with you.

Schedule
The festival is not organised from above and does not discriminate between participants. Well-known artists from the field, emerging artists and undeground groups are presented side by side. U500 has grown out of the domestic contemporary dance scene, but from the beginning we have sought to emphasise the potential of cross-genre crossings and boundary crossings. Electronic music, performance, theatre and visual arts are also part of the programme.
Each year, the U500 aims to strengthen the mutually supportive, horizontal way of working of the community that makes the festival come alive, to seek alliances and to open this up to the public during this June weekend.
In addition to premieres, work-in-progress productions and premiered performances over the two days, as last year, there will be a visual arts exhibition in the gallery and both days will close with musical performances.
PROGRAM
The exhibition will be open all day in the gallery space on both days of the festival.Exhibiting artists.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
U500 2020 was born out of necessity, the only opportunity for participating artists to perform in front of a live audience between two epidemic waves. Organised as a community event at the time, it has since lived on as a vital need, and this year we are hosting it for the fourth time at the Artus Studio. The U500 is organised by a community of volunteers, with performers receiving a token honorarium, all on an equal basis. Our primary goals are to build community, increase visibility, professional accountability, start a discourse and provide an independent platform to do so.xcGraphics by Peti Tóth
Artus
Artus is an open, diverse intellectual and creative workshop, a meeting place for people, ideas and art.
Artus is both Gábor Goda's company, the Artus Studio - a studio in an abandoned factory building of 2000 square metres - and the collective of 30 artists who work there, as well as the Association, which provides the institutional backdrop.
Founded in 1985, Artus is an independent, contemporary, all-arts collective. We have created more than 100 performances and presented them in 25 countries. Since the beginning we have organised international projects, residencies and co-productions.
The Studio's regular programmes include performances by the Artus company, guest performances, visual arts exhibitions, music and other cultural events, as well as self-awareness and movement workshops.
