The National Dance Theatre's popular series of performances presents the joint history of film and dance in an entertaining multimedia performance by János Lakatos, award-winning choreographer and teacher at the Hungarian Dance Academy.
In the upcoming performance of Dancing Film Cubes, everyone can find the style that suits them best, be it ballroom dancing, classical ballet or street trends like hip-hop or breakdancing. Favourites such as Moulin Rouge, Billy Elliot, In the Rivalda Light or The Scent of a Woman will be on the programme. We take a peek into the workshop of tango and flamenco master Carlos Saura, the making of Black Swan and the life of the style-creating dancers of Rize.
We bring together the best of the most colourful styles for this exhilarating 120 minutes!
National Dance Theatre
On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
