Sámuel Baló Trio, guest: Péter Ajtai
This is not the first time that Samuel Baló and his orchestra have appeared at the Opus Jazz Club. They have performed as a trio, and on other occasions they have given concerts with their foreign musician friends, forming a septet, or Mihály Dresch has joined the band. This time, however, they come in an even more special line-up, with Péter Ajtai on bass.

This evening will mainly feature Sámuel Baló's own compositions, inspired by impressions, moods, experiences and memories. The compositions often draw from the world of modal jazz and folk music; they leave a lot of space and freedom for improvisation and musical communication between the members, so that each time they sound a little different, with a different colouring and a renewed freshness. The presence of two bass ensembles allows for a freer, less accompaniment-like bass playing and opens the way for exciting bass duos. With Peter Ajtai's contribution, not only will the polyphony be richer, but a rhythmically denser fabric can be created - as the music demands.
