KACAJ is a three-year-old folkpop band based in Pécs, Hungary. Its speciality is that it is not only age- and genre-specific, but also covers a wide range of musical genres. From alternative rock to hiphop, the band's sound is made up of many different styles, and the connecting link is Hungarian folk music. Their aim is to make our folk music values as popular and listened to as possible, thus reaching out to younger generations. Their songs are progressive, yet in a pop music guise, in the form of joy music. Their vibrant, country energy guarantees a great concert experience. If you don't believe me, find out!
The Csángálló have come a long way since they started in 2009, and since then they have played all over Hungary and Europe. They have played in the biggest festivals, the most prestigious concert halls, and the smallest villages in Transylvania and Moldavia, where their music has its roots. The Csángállók have recorded three albums and scores for theatre and dance performances. Their music draws on traditional folk music, which, with the orchestra's distinctive sound and open-mindedness, creates a new style of music. Yet the result is a kind of psychedelic experience, thanks to the pull of the melodies and the real depth of the accompaniment. In this way, their music is not only a virtuoso party event, but also a state of consciousness of the origin of their music.
