GÁBOR PRESSER: 1 MORE CONCERT

"Dear All!

By my count, I've been in the game for about 55 years. You might think that after all this time, if you're asked - hey, Pb, how about an Arena concert - say, on the 30th of September next year - you take a minute to think about it, check your calendar to see if there's anything more important on that day, and then say yes or no.

But that's not exactly the case.

The question is followed by a flurry of memories, faces, voices, images, songs, melodies, and the excitement that grows by the minute, or in other words, all the early stage fright and joy. One closes one's eyes, begins to plan, draws clumsily, makes notes, then throws away, crumples, tears up, and in a careless moment says to oneself: yes. Because nothing is better than making music. Well, yes. If you get it right.

Yesterday I accepted the invitation. So be it.
